We are proceeding with WorldCat Discovery’s transition to a new search platform that enhances WorldCat searching on WorldCat Discovery and many other OCLC applications.

Two groups of libraries have successfully transitioned to the new platform since early October. Searches at these libraries are returning results as expected with on target response times.

Libraries that use the WorldCat Discovery API will move to the new platform on 10 November.

Information about the new search algorithms and details about upcoming library transitions are available on a WorldCat Discovery search relevance reference page at oc.lc/discovery-relevance that is accessible from the WorldCat Discovery community website.

Moving to the new search platform will deliver more relevant search results with no interruption to your use of the service. It will require no action by your staff.

Additional information about search relevance improvements and plans for this transition were shared in a 14 September community update webinar. Resources from this program are available on the WorldCat Discovery community website.

If you encounter unexpected search issues following the move, please let us know by contacting OCLC Customer Support in your region.

Thank you for your ongoing support during this significant WorldCat Discovery milestone.
