Is there any way to get reports on temporary items in WMS? They don't seem to show up in any reports I could find. In particular, I would like to be able to see counts by shelving location. We have items that should probably be catalogued, but are entered as temporary items. It would also be helpful to be able to see temporary items for just our institution and not from anyone in our group.

Temporary items show up on the Circulation Item Inventories list available through the FTP site. Within that list they are identified as Item_Type=CIRC_MANAGED. The information related to these items (including the Holding and Shelving locations) is entirely dependent on what was entered when each temporary items was created.

That's definitely helpful. I just wish there was a way to do that directly through Report Designer.

I think I have good news for you. Temporary items are covered by the report object "Item Type" in the Circulation Item Status. As Terry mentioned, you're looking for the type "CIRC_MANAGED". I ran a quick test using a small custom report using the Circulation Item Status universe and I was able to get counts by shelving location. See attached screenshot. According to the OCLC help pages, the report object appears in a few standard reports but none which are likely to give you counts by shelving location, so I think a custom report is probably your best bet.
Cheers!

Excellent! That is exactly what I need.
