024 fields for DVD and Blu-Ray records

Hi all,

I am trying to create a new record for a Blu-Ray, but I cannot enter the 024 because I keep getting the following error message: "1st $a in 024 is too long."

The MARC field guide seems to indicate that I just need to scan in the barcode, but whenever I try that it won't accept it; the only way around it seems to be omitting the 024 altogether, which is obviously not an ideal solution.

Is there a way around this?
